MASSAGE SCHOOL OPENING IN HUNTINGTON, WV

On June 6, 2005, the I-N Touch School of Massage Therapy at 1401-6th Ave., Huntington, WV will open its doors to its first class. Local massage therapist Sonny Allen has united with other local physicians and alternative healthcare practitioners to expand the tri-states knowledge and acceptance of integrative medicine through education and community involvement. Our facility is on the corner of 6th Ave and 14th Street, housed upstairs over Drs. Sharma and McPherson.

A September 2002 press release from the NCTMB says that their organization has seen a 25% rise in certification of Massage Therapists yearly since 1996 and is one of the fastest growing professions nationally. Our school is geared toward teaching healing through massage and introductions to other alternative modalities. Our graduating students will leave prepared to be licensed in WV and KY and eligible to sit for the National Certification of Therapeutic Body Workers examination for licensing. As part of the training our school will offer massage clinics to local residents at minimal cost from students under the supervision of an instructor.

In addition to the educational end of the business, we house an on-site supply store carrying massage supplies and information. We hope to make this a local venue for networking with other health care professionals and is open to the public as well. We are hosting an open house on Sunday, May 29th with giveaways and prizes intended to promote massage therapy locally, including one year of free massage appointments at our location.

For more information contact the school via e-mail at ntouchschool@zoominternet.net or by phone in KY call 606-327-0864 or WV call 304-691-7934.

Some thoughts from our local community:

Brad Profitt PLLC, Profitt Chiropractic, Ashland Ky.
"To whom it may concern: RE: I-N Touch School of Massage Therapy
The community will benefit from the opening of the I-N Touch School of Massage Therapy in Huntington WV. We offer massage and other types of muscle treatments in my office and have very good results. The power of touch is very underated when it comes to promoting health."

Bob Hardwick , Vice President, First Sentry Bank
"I have long been a proponent of the Holistic approach to Good Health Care. The new I-N Touch School of Massage Therapy puts Huntington on par with other cities in the state that offer a school to develop and train students to become Professional Massage Therapists, thereby promoting a higher level of alternatives for those seeking this form of healthcare. It's a win-win for all our citizens."

Osten P. Matheson, Vice President, First State Bank
"In a rapidly changing world, massage therapy is consistent with the emphasis on "wellness." As competition increases for jobs and market success, due diligence, time management, and focus are essential. Massage therapy, routine daily exercise, and mental discipline will be the rule, rather than the exception in a very competitive world.

Bill Wheeler, Huntington Steel, Huntington, WV
"It is so refreshing to learn that Huntington will soon have a massage therapy school. For so many people in the tri-state who were interested in having a career in massage therapy has had to travel to Charleston. Because of the travel time many who wanted to go to massage therapy school have other professions. Not only will the school in Huntington benefit those wanting the training but the entire population of the tri-sate will be blessed with more massage therapists.

Professor Tara Sharma, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.I.C.S.
"MASSAGE! WHAT, ME?"
I was a skeptic until I was tricked into having one during our vacation, by my wife who loves massages.

From that day onwards, I am an addict. I have reaped both physical and psychological benefits from a weekly massage. It is a therapeutic modality that can benefit almost anybody from a tired stressed person to the healthy person who can maintain good health by regular massage from a well-trained professional massage therapist.
