I-N Touch School of
Massage TherapyWe, at the I-N Touch School of Massage Therapy will offer
our students the opportunity to explore their own inner
being; while training to become a massage therapist. We
aspire to the individual as a whole, mind/body & spirit.
We int roduce
the concept of having an open, flexible mindset and a
desire to go through change in our non-traditional
classroom environment. This teaching concept is designed
to introduce our students as well as their future clients
to healing through awareness, movement, vocalization; thus
facilitating another’s healing process once understanding
their own. The underlying principle of our curriculum is
taught in a way to encourage our students to grow as an
individual, as well as develop skills to become an aware,
caring, thorough and knowledgeable therapist. All classes
are based on a 50 minute instructional hour.

Ohio State Minimum Educational Requirements as of
9/31/2005
Beginning December 31, 2005, the course of instruction for
classes enrolling on or after that date
shall include a
minimum of seven hundred and fifty (750) clock hours
covering a period of not less than nine months.
Beginning with classes enrolling on or after December 31,
2005, teach at least the minimum required hours in the
following subjects in dedicated clock hours, as
appropriate to massage therapy:
(a) Anatomy and physiology; pathology: three hundred and
twenty-five (325) clock hours;
(b) Massage theory and practical, including hygiene: three
hundred and twenty-five (325) clock hours;
(c) Ethics: twenty-five (25) clock hours, at least ten
(10) of which shall be in a class dedicated exclusively to
ethics. For purposes of this rule, "ethics" shall be
defined to include sexual boundary issues and impairment
and chemical dependency issues;
(d) Business and law: twenty-five (25) clock hours; and
(e) Such other subjects as the board deems necessary and
appropriate to massage therapy: fifty (50) clock hours;
and
(f) Require that each student, prior to completing the
course of instruction, perform, on a licensed massage
therapist, at least one therapeutic massage. The school
shall ensure that the student massage is evaluated as to
whether the student demonstrates at least minimally
acceptable competency.
